Back to School!!

The new middle schooler!! We had to beg her to let us take a picture on the first day! Look converse are back!!

So Jason has promised Kayla that he will get her a cell phone if she makes A's all year long. It will be tough for her, she has a pretty hard schedule and some demanding teachers but we know she can do it. Then she will make her dad eat his words. It is kind of hard to believe but she is in the small minority of kids in her grade that do not have a cell phone already.
Kindergarten Rocks!!

Keaton is showing off his new what else Transformer bookbag! He was actually very excited to start and he has really enjoyed it! He loves P.E. and going to computer lab.

Kayla studying to make those A's
I had to throw in this sweet picture of Kaden blowing a kiss. He will be going to school two days a week for a couple hours but he doesn't start for a little while longer.

Keaton's 6!

We celebrated Keaton's Birthday with just family this year. It is kind of unfortunate that he has a summer birthday because at this age the friends at school don't keep in touch over the summer usually. So we had a family party and took him bowling with his cousins!
He really wanted a transformer cake! Luckily I was able to find a pan in the shape of Optimus Prime!

Kaden loves birthday parties and he is always excited to celebrate.

This was Keaton's big present for his birthday. He picked this bike out himself! Now we have to convince him to try to ride without the training wheels!

Joey is two!!

This is my nephew Joey! He is Patrick and Karen's middle son. We were out of town for his real birthday party so we threw him another one so we wouldn't miss it!

The kids had fun playing on the slip in slide at my parent's house. Kaden is 6 months older than Joey so they will be having lots of fun together being cousins!

I made these cupcakes for him and they turned out really cute! I mostly put this picture on for my sister in law that I think is having an elmo party for her son!!

I think Joey really enjoyed them!!

Cloudland Canyon

Over the summer we went to Cloudland Canyon for a picnic and some hiking. It is goregous and we would really like to do some camping there this fall.

Taking a little break on our way down to the waterfalls! All the kids did really well on the hike but we were amazed by Kaden. He kept up with us and did most of the walk himself. There were a ton of stairs down!! Some of you may recognize this because we did a family trip with Jason's side a while back.

Jason throwing rocks with the kids. Any boys favorite past time!! He was teaching Kayla how to skip the rocks across the top of the water!! We had a great family day!

California Dreamin

Overlooking San Diego!

Kayla is excited to be here.

This is from inside the light house we toured.
This light house is so small. I am use to seeing the really tall ones.

Jason wanted to show the boys the aircraft carrier in San Diego. This is the USS Midway.

Beach Time!!

Someone had dug a huge hole on the beach and Keaton and Kaden loved jumping in it. Kept them entertained for a while.

Kayla loved the pacific ocean. The waves were a lot of fun.

Kaden chasing the pigeons. I think every child has to give this a try.

Kaden didn't love the water too much but he loved playing in the sand!

Building a sand castle
This pier was right across the street from our condo. It was a fun place to stay. There was also an outdoor ampitheater that always had something going on on the weekends.
Kayla relaxing in the sand!!

Disneyland

Daddy and Kaden enjoying It's A Small World.

The kids and I on Alice In Wonderland. I don't think they have this one at Disney World.
Grandma and Kaden taking a break in the tea cup. Notice Grandma wearing her jacket in June. Bet you wouldn't see that at Disney World!! The weather was gorgeous and so comfortable for being in an amusement park.

Keaton on the merry-go-round!

We had to wait a while to see Mickey and have our picture taken but we stuck it out. There weren't too many characters out in the park. That seems to be a bigger thing in Florida.

On It's a Small World again. Can't get too much of that can you? Actually I think you can but the boys seemed to like this ride the best.

Kaden looking so enthralled by the music and everything going on.

San Diego Zoo

You cannot visit San Diego and not go to the zoo. It is a awesome place to visit. The kids really enjoyed it even though we walked their little legs off.

Visiting the elephants. These were Kaden's favorite. He picked out a stuffed elephant to take home at the end of the day.

The kids were fascinated at being so close to this big kitty!

Future animal trainer Kayla?! She says this is what she wants to do when she grows up.
Somehow Kayla got her face painted for free. This normally would cost $17 but the lady must have felt sorry for her. No telling what kind of sob story she told the lady. She loved it though!!

What Cuties!! There is Keaton winking again. Thanks Jeff!!

I love this picture of Kaden with the billy goat because he was being so gentle and sweet with him, which is not always like bam-bam.

So I know this is not the most masculine background for Kaden but he insisted on having his picture taken with the flowers. Such a cute kid!!
